Central Vac

Question:
Please walk me through the benefits of a central vac system versus the traditional upright Im using now.
Answer:

Thanks for your question. There are some major benefits offered with a central vac system versus what you may be experiencing now with an upright. For example - you may notice dust particles in the air after you vacuum when sunlight enters the room. You may also notice odours after vacuuming. You’ll experience neither of these issues with the Vacuflo Built-In Central Vacuum system. The built-in cyclonic power of VACUFLO offers up 5 times more suction and power of an upright. The result is your family breathes cleaner air and will live in a cleaner home!

Question:
On the True Cyclonic Vacuflo unit - How do I clean the motor guard screen? (True Cyclonic units only)
Answer:

Thanks for your question. (1) Remove the dirt canister from the power unit. (2) Look up inside the bottom of the unit, through the plastic cone and you will see a small screen. (3) Take a stiff bristled brush - a new toilet brush works great and stick the brush through the cone and brush and build-up off the screen. (4) Replace the dirt canister. (5) Note – the guard screen is permanently installed and cannot be removed.

Question:
How do I empty the dirt canister?
Answer:

1. Remove the dirt canister from the power unit.2. Discard contents of the canister in a trash receptacle.3. Replace the dirt canister.

Question:
My power unit will not turn on, what can I do?
Answer:

First, check the breaker in your electrical panel and reset if necessary. You should also check to see if the reset button on the canister itself has popped out. (The reset button is located on the upper left hand side of the unit above where the low voltage wires connect into the machine.) Push this reset button in if it has popped out. If the power unit still does not come on, try plugging something else (hair dryer, electric drill) into the electrical plug your canister is plugged into. It may be that your electrical outlet is not working, in this case call an electrician. If you have checked all of these items and your unit will still not come on, please contact your local dealer for service.

Question:
The vac tubing located near my power unit has a black film on it. Can you tell me whats causing that to happen?
Answer:

This black film is carbon dust that is caused by the wearing down of the motor brushes. This is not an indicator of bad motor performance. This dust typically accumulates on the PVC tubing that connects to your unit on the right side because the tubing has a static electric charge that attracts small dust particles.

Question:
I have low suction at the end of my hose handle - what could the problem be?
Answer:

The problem could be that the pleated cartridge filter needs changed. The filter needs to be replaced once a year to avoid build-up of dust and debris. If this does not restore the suction to the original level, you may have a clog or an air leak in the tube system.

Question:
How do I change my filter?
Answer:

1. Remove the dirt canister from the power unit.2. Remove the cone by pulling straight down.3. Turn the filter latch ¼ of a turn to remove the filter.4. Replace the filter and secure the latch. - To find a dealer click here, or buy online.5. Replace the cone and the canister.

Question:
I have a Filtered Cyclonic unit, how often should I change the filter?
Answer:

This depends on your cleaning habits. We recommend changing the filter once a year. It is also recommended that when the dirt canister is emptied the filter be removed and tapped against the side to remove excess dust/debris. The filter is NOT washable, DO NOT GET THE FILTER WET.

Question:
I need to replace my filter for my Filtered Cyclonic Central Vacuum where can I buy one?
Answer:

To purchase a replacement filter, please contact your local dealer or you can order filters online direct from VACUFLO.
