No. Safety Film will reduce, but not eliminate fading. It will reduce up to 99% of ultra-violet radiation, which is a major cause of fading. Fading is a result of many other factors such as: 1) visible light, 2) heat and humidity, 3) age of fabric, 4) chemical vapors, and 5) dye fastness

Will Safety Film provide adequate protection from hurricane-like winds?

Yes. It would take an abnormally large, heavy, and sharp object propelled at a very high velocity to cause glass that is protected with Safety Film to break and cause the integrity of the glazing system to fail.

Safety Film passes the Small Missile Impact Test (PA 201), Wind Cycle Loading Test (PA 203-94), and Uniform Structural Load Test (PA 202-94). t does not pass the Large Missile Impact Test

I understand about Lexan XL 10 and tellowing, but what thickness is the Lexan supposed to be? Most sell 1/8 to 3/16. Is that in code? And installation. According to code, how much is the OVERLAP if the opening is wider than the Lexan sheet. I have a 108 in opening by 112 in. high. How much Lexan overlap should there be?

1/8 meets code and you should overlap a minimum of 3/4 inch.
